This is Penny. She is a beloved character from the famous show The Big Bang Theory. Basically, she is a nice girl surrounded by really smart and geeky science geniuses, who tend, unintentionally, to make her feel as if she was quite silly. Well, surely you all know who Penny is. No introductions needed.
But in a more general context, Penny could be many of us: common people who just don't get the knack of Science. Some maybe never studied it, and many may just have forgotten most of what they studied, which, actually, is my case.
So the thing is that I have decided that we all should have the slightest general idea of some basic Science. And, for me at least, that means remembering what we were taught in Primary School. Therefore, this blog is both for the ones actually attending Primary School (i.e., children), and for the ones who are not willing to find out that their little nephews know more Science than they do.
So, with that in mind, let's let Penny be our guide and our reference: I will try to write things here in a way she would grasp them. I hereby declare this blog Penny-friendly.
And, what is more, Penny herself will give us a hand running this blog, in the hope of helping me keeping my texts as educative and easy-reading as possible. So let me introduce you to what we will assume as Penny's participation:
Hi, there! Penny here. Just in case you are wondering, yeah, I'll be talking in bold and purple.
Great, thanks. So that's Penny. More or less, I think that is all we need to begin. Now, let's try to understand the universe.
